The congregations in covenant with the United Church of Christ represent a diverse mix of theological ideas from the traditional to the progressive, and many other points along the spectrum. Sermons at North Church reflect an emergent view that the Bible is a serious record of the how ancient people viewed their relationship to God. As such, it informs our own faith journeys in the present day and should be seriously studied and understood as clearly as possible. We strive to never use the scriptures just to prove our own point, but rather to "let the Bible be the Bible," a library of ancient writings.
